Steve Hudson was a man who initially disappeared from Ontario in 2008. Months later, his remains were found in Munroe, Michigan, after apparently washing ashore from Lake Erie. His body was identified through DNA in 2009.
Disappearance[]
Hudson vanished under unclear circumstances in January 2008, which his long-term girlfriend stated was out of the ordinary. In May 2008, his remains washed ashore in Michigan in a decomposed state. No cause of death was determined; nothing suggested he had been murdered or otherwise subjected to violence. A reconstruction was created after his DNA and fingerprints failed to match records in the United States.
While searching through information surrounding missing persons, the artist (and investigator) for the case noticed a resemblance between Hudson's dental characteristics and what was observed on the unidentified set of remains. This preceded the release of the three-dimensional rendering, and eventual DNA comparison identified the body as Hudson's.
