Heul Girl (Dutch: Heulmeisje) was a girl or young woman found dead in the Netherlands in October 1976.

Case[]

The girl was discovered by hikers in the former De Heul parking lot, located on the A12 motorway between Arnhem and Utrecht, the Netherlands, in the direction of travel to Germany. She was naked and had been found underneath branches and soil.

In 1975, a girl matching Heul Girl's description disappeared from the same area and her case was linked to the unidentified girl. However, in 2006, the former came forward alive and well, and the investigation into Huel Girl's identity continued.

Later investigations showed the girl was about 12-15 years old and lived in the Ruhr and Eifel regions of Germany for the first seven years of her life. In 1975, she possibly lived in East Germany or Eastern Europe. She possibly also lived in Germany or the Netherlands in the year prior to her death. Additionally, she was found to have poor nutrition before her death.

On 10 May 2023, Interpol launched Operation Identify Me, which aims to solve the cases of 22 unidentified women discovered in Western Europe, specifically the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Heul Girl is the oldest case from the appeal, and referred to as "The Girl on the Parking Lot".
