Everson Gillmouth was a 77-year-old Oregon-native who disappeared from California after beginning a romantic relationship with serial killer Dorthea Puente. His body was discovered on January 1, 1986 in a wooden box along the Sacramento River, where it had been dumped by a handyman hired by his fiancée. In November 1988, his body was identified.
Eight additional murders are attributed to Puente, most of which took place in an illegal group home she owned in order to obtain social security payments on behalf of her disabled and/or elderly tenants. However, she was convicted of three killings after the conclusion of her trial. She died in 2011.
