Eva Maria Pommer was a German woman who was discovered in the Meijendel dune area in Wassenaar, the Netherlands.

She was identified in October 2025 as part of Interpol's "Identify Me" campaign. She was nicknamed "The Woman with the German Keys" before her identification.

Case[]

On the afternoon of 4 July 2004, a man walking through the dunes near the remote Wassenaar beach, close to the Meijendel area, noticed a woman lying in the sand near beach post 93. Her cause of death remains unexplained, and no signs of violence were found on her body; however, a crime has not been ruled out.

Isotope testing indicated that she was possibly born and raised in Eastern Europe (although this was later found to be incorrect), and also that she had lived in Western Europe, possibly in the Netherlands or Germany, for at least five years.

A set of keys found on her body included one that had been delivered to the German city of Bottrop, near the Dutch border. However, police were unable to connect it with any particular address.

A television program presenting information on the case's connection to Bottrop was broadcast in Germany and the Netherlands in 2024. This led to several tips being provided to the police, including one regarding a German woman who had been missing for around 20 years. This was investigated by police and led to Pommer's identification through DNA comparison.
