Escambia County John Doe was a man found in a wooded area along Interstate 10 in Escambia County, Florida, on November 7, 1986. The location of discovery was about one mile away from the Crestview Exit onto Florida State Road 85.
It is believed the decedent had been struck from behind by a hit-and-run driver based on his injuries. There was also some evidence that his body had been dragged from the roadway into the woods in an attempt to conceal it.
Characteristics[]
- Black hair.
- Previous severe left thigh bone fracture with very poor healing, causing it to be three inches shorter.
- Possibly walked with a severe limp as a result of this injury.
- Single tooth cavity, but otherwise excellent dental hygiene.

- Dark blue Botany 500 knit trousers.
- Candy striped Carino shirt, size 15 or 15.5.
- Black and maroon clip-on tie.
- Single gray slip-on dress shoe, size 10.
- Small amount of paper currency.
