Elko County Jane Doe was a teenage girl whose partial remains were found in a ditch in rural Elko, Nevada, on October 2, 1972.
Case[]
A resident hunting in the area found the victim's decapitated remains. The body, along with the head nearby, was discovered in a shallow ditch, concealed under dirt and dead willows, approximately 100 yards off Devil's Gate Road.
Following an examination by the FBI, it was estimated that she had been killed somewhere between 4 to 12 weeks prior to the discovery of her remains, placing her death approximately 10 July 1972 and 4 September 1972. However, a cause of her death could not be undetermined.
Characteristics[]
