"El Diablo" was the nickname of a young man who was found shot dead and burned to death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on August 1, 2010. He was known by this nickname among the residents of the Rivadavia neighborhood. He is suspected to be a victim of serial killer Marcelo Antelo, although Antelo was not charged with this crime.
According to some witnesses, an unidentified person doused El Diablo with alcohol and then set him on fire. Seeing that he did not die, he shot him in the head and threw him into a garbage container.
Between February and August 2010, Antelo, a drug addict who reportedly invoked San La Muerte during his crimes, shot and killed at least four to seven people and wounded three others in the Flores district of Buenos Aires. His victims were described as poor and marginalized individuals living in and around the Rivadavia neighborhood. Antelo was arrested on August 30, 2010, convicted of four murders in 2012, and subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment.
