Donald William Downing was a United States Air Force officer who was shot down during the Vietnam War.
His remains were located at his plane's crash site during an expedition in May and June 2024 and identified on December 20, 2024. An additional USAF officer that was with him on the plane, Paul Raymond, remains missing.

Donald's biography was written in Erin Miller's book, Wisconsin's 37: The Lives of Those Missing in Action in the Vietnam War, which details the lives and cases of all 37 servicemen from Wisconsin that remain missing in action in the Vietnam War at the time of the book's publishing in 2018.
