Dinwiddie County John Doe was a transient man who was picked up in Northampton County, Virginia on July 17, 1943. He was committed to Central State Hospital in Namozine, Virginia where he died of cerebral hemorrhage as the result of heart disease on October 19, 1943. During his stay at the hospital, staff was unable to obtain information about the victim's past.
He was buried on the hospital grounds on October 27, 1943. A memorial marker for this victim and other unidentified patients buried in the hospital was dedicated on May 30, 1991.
