Diany Cavalcante da Silva was a transgender woman who was discovered strangled to death inside of a blue car on a street in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. According to witnesses, a couple was seen getting in the car with the woman then exiting without her. Additionally, it has been reported that the car was typically used to partake in drugs and sexual activities.
She was identified days after her murder, with Paulo Palheta da Silva and Perla Campos de Oliveira being arrested for her murder. It has not been clarified if she and Paulo are related.
Case
On the morning of 4 February 2022, a passerby in the Centro neighborhood of Manaus noticed the body of Diany laying face down inside a Corsa model blue car on the street of Rua Leovegildo Coelho with an electrical wire wrapped around her neck. Her body was retrieved by authorities and the scene was searched, with police finding CCTV footage of the woman walking down the street at 2:19am that morning. Then, she appears to be called to the car by a woman and a man presumed to be a couple. She enters the car with them, though she is not seen exiting the vehicle with the couple minutes later. Reportedly, the man had been hiding his face with a blue tarp and the couple walked away toward Rua dos Andradas after exiting.

According to anonymous witnesses, the same blue car had been abandoned for seven months on Rua Leovegildo Coelho and was used by several people to partake in drugs or sexual favors. It could not be surmised if the decedent was possibly a sex worker or drug user based on these details at the time.
On 10 February 2022, Paulo Palheta da Silva and Perla Campos de Oliveira were arrested for the decedent's murder. It is not clear if Diany was identified before or after their arrest, nor if Diany and Paulo are related. It has been disclosed that Diany and the couple were using narcotics and that the decedent had been murdered during an argument. The case is currently still ongoing.
