Daksa Island John Does are a group of 53 men, 18 of whom have been identified, that were discovered buried on Daksa Island in September 2009. They had been accused of being Ustaše sympathizers by Yugoslav partisans without trial and were subsequently transported from the city of Dubrovnik to the island and then executed on 24 October 1944. To date, no one has been tried or convicted for their role in these summary executions.
