Cynthia Lynn Davis was a woman whose remains were found in Huntsville, Alabama, on October 16, 1997.
She was identified through DNA comparison with family members in March 2012.
Case[]
Davis' body was found on October 16, 1997, in Huntsville, Alabama, in a wooded area near the banks of Indian Creek. She was wrapped in plastic sheeting used in construction and was secured with duct tape.
Davis' stepfather had first alerted authorities of the possible match in 2009 after hearing about the unidentified body in a news report. However, it took several years to conduct the necessary confirmatory testing due to a backlog at the FBI Crime Lab. She was never reported missing and was estranged from the rest of her family, who lived in California. Her murder remains unsolved.
