Chatham County Jane Doe was a woman whose skeletal remains were found by a trucker in a wooded area near Interstate 16 in Bloomingdale, Georgia, on March 7, 1989.
Investigators do not believe the woman was from the local area and she likely died in late September to early October 1988. During the investigation, 22 rounds from a .38 caliber gun were found arranged in a circular pattern around her body, indicating the weapon had to be reloaded three times. One bullet had also shattered one of her kneecaps. Investigators believe her murder was personal.
