Goudeau was killed when his car crashed on Interstate 77 with his dog in the car, who survived. After being identified, Goudeau was cremated, but his body remained unclaimed. Law enforcement later discovered that Goudeau had previously supplied them with a social security number belonging to an individual residing in Texas.
