Cairo Ammar Jordan (October 24, 2016 - April 16, 2022) was a young boy whose body was found in a suitcase off of a rural road in Indiana in 2022.
Case[]
By the month following his discovery, the autopsy results found that the boy had likely died from an electrolyte imbalance caused by a virus that results in vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration.
He was identified in October 2022, and Dawn Coleman was arrested in California regarding his death. His mother, 37-year-old Dejuane Anderson was arrested in March 2024. Both women were charged with neglect and obstruction of justice. In November 2023, Coleman was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder in Cairo's case and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. In August 2024, Anderson was found mentally incompetent to stand trial and ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment. She was once again found incompetent that November. Coleman had agreed to testify against Anderson at her trial. In February 2025, Anderson was found competent to stand trial, which was scheduled to begin in October of that year.
