Buxton John Doe was a man whose body was found floating in the Steavenson River in Buxton, Victoria.
Case[]
At about 4:30 PM on 25 December 1971, the body of a man was found by children floating in the Steavenson River. The body was located 60 meters downstream from the Maroondah Highway bridge.
Despite an initial police investigation, the body was unable to be identified. Initial inquiries at the time describe the man as possibly being a "continental migrant".
