Broward County Jane Doe was a woman whose remains were found in a canal near US Route 27 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Case

On March 11, 1992, the dismembered body of a woman discovered in a canal. A handgun was located in the vicinity, though its connection to her murder remains unclear.

Initial reports suggested the body might belong to Amelia Jones, a 17-year old who ran away in since January. However, Jones contacted her family after news of the discovery, confirming she is alive.
