Brandon Mason Lawson (born November 18, 1986) was a man whose remains were found in a remote area near US Route 277, south of Bronte, Texas. His identity was confirmed in December 2024. Although no specific cause of death has been released, his case is listed as a homicide by state-level investigators.
Case[]
Lawson had gone missing after an argument with his girlfriend at his home in San Angelo. He later called his father saying he was going to come visit him in Crowley, a three hour drive from San Angelo. Lawson was last heard from after he made a series of phone calls to his family and 911.
He claimed that he ran out of gas along the stretch of US Route 277 and was being chased from his car, however he was known to have a substance abuse problem at the time of his disappearance, so the validity of his statement is still unknown.
Lawson's remains were found a mile from where his car was originally discovered in 2022, but were not conclusively identified until late 2024.
