"Body in the Cylinder" was the nickname given to a man whose mummified remains were found within a partially sealed cylinder in 1945.

Case[]

It's believed that the man's body had been lain undiscovered for 60 years, possibly from 1885-1890. Inquiries state that a possible identity is a man named Thomas Creegan Williams. It's believed that after he went bankrupt in 1884, he went to sleep in the barrel and asphyxiated. This has never been confirmed and the Body in the Cylinder remains unidentified.
