"Bobby Copeland," also known as Bob and Robert was an alias used by a teenager or young man found in Florida in 1988. 24 men have been ruled out as the decedent.
Case[]
On January 5, 1988, the decedent was discovered in the bathtub of Room 227 at the Marco Polo Hotel. He had been stabbed to death hours prior to being found. Nearly a dozen wounds were observed.
Locals who interacted with the decedent prior to his death, including the group of youths he worked with as a magazine salesman, stated that the decedent referred to himself as "Bobby Copeland" and claimed he had recently run away from a foster home in New York state. However, a further investigation by law enforcement for children/teenagers with this and variants of this name yielded no results. The unidentified youth had also apparently used another individual's social security number.
Mark Robinson, a fellow runaway youth native to Georgia who had also been staying at the hotel, was arrested for Bobby's murder, however he still remains unidentified.
