Baltimore John Doe was a man who died in Baltimore, Maryland on July 25, 1898. He had died of natural causes. No papers were found to ascertain his identity.
Case[]
The victim was found at Klein's Park on the southside of Spring Gardens of Baltimore by two park workers, William Bennet and Peter Bannon, at around 8:00 a.m. He was lying on a bench with his head resting on his right arm and seemed asleep from a distance.
An inquest at the Mount Winans police station determined that he died of natural causes. A man named Christopher Kramer said he witnessed the unknown man walking along Annapolis Avenue the day before at 5:00 p.m. Several park workers indicated they saw the unknown man at around 6:00 p.m. At 2:00 a.m., a waiter named W.L. Galloway stated that he saw him walking toward the place where he was found.
The unknown man was buried at the West Potter's Field in Baltimore.
