"Baby Lara" was an infant whose body was found entombed in concrete in 2002. Her body showed signs of physical and possibly sexual abuse and she may have been placed in the concrete while still alive. She was thought to be dead for at least 15 years, although after her identification it was revealed that both of her parents passed away in the 1980s, so she was likely deceased for longer.
In 2004, a woman and her husband were arrested after she was connected to Lara through DNA testing. They were later released after it was revealed that the woman was actually Lara's sister. In 2005, Lara's parents were identified as Sheila and Joseph Thwaites, who were both deceased. The inquiry into Lara's death was closed after her parents were identified, but her homicide is officially unsolved as there is no proof that her parents were responsible for her death.
