The Medina County Sheriff's Office announced on November 21, 2023 that her parents had been identified through forensic genetic genealogy conducted by Identifinders International. Her mother, Maricela Valles Frausto (née Flores) of Hondo, Texas, has been charged with capital murder of a person under 10. Her father's name was not released, and he is not believed to have been involved in her death.
