Autauga County Jane Doe was a woman whose skeletal remains were found in a root cellar in Alabama in 1986.
Case[]
Children having a birthday party at a farmhouse in Marbury, Alabama, discovered the victim on March 29, 1986. The site was in one of three root cellars on the property. The kids were playing with a ball in the yard, which went into the cellar. A boy went in to get the ball and ran out of the cellar to inform his friends that he had found a 'monster' in the hole. The child's friends told him to prove it, and he went back to the cellar clutching a stick and returned with her skull.
It's believed that she was buried in the cellar 5 to 6 years before discovery. She had three gunshot wounds to the head. Three bullets and a spent shell casing were also found in the cellar. An authority figure does not believe that she is from the area. Her murder remains under investigation.
