Amsterdam John Doe was a man found near the Toronto Bridge on the Amsteldijk in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Case[]
The man was discovered on the Amsteldijk, near the Toronto Bridge, in critical condition. Emergency services responded and attempted resuscitation, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. While the cause of death has not been publicly confirmed, authorities reported no signs of foul play.
Witness statements indicated that the man may have originated from Norway and was living in the De Pijp neighborhood. Some witnesses claimed he had stated that he arrived in the Netherlands by bicycle from Norway. Dutch authorities contacted Norwegian officials in an effort to confirm his identity, but no match was found in missing persons databases.
Following public outreach, several potential identities were submitted. However, investigators later ruled out the missing Irish national James Patrick Grealis and an unidentified American man with a history of homelessness.
