Identification[]
When Pittsburgh police were investigating cold case disappearances, they came in contact with the family of Amanda Myers. In June 2012, after comparing DNA from Myers' mother to the woman's remains, she was identified as Amanda.
Myers had been dealing with substance abuse and had relinquished custody of her two daughters. She was known as a drifter, going between Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and Florida. She was last seen in January 2000, after attending her daughter's birthday party, at which time her last known residence was a shelter in Pittsburgh.
