Alexander Marinis

Alexander Marinis was a man whose body was found floating in the Maroochy River under the Talep Bridge in Maroochydore, Queensland, in 2023.

He was identified in February 2025, and his identification was made public in June of that year.

Case[]

On 27 November, Marinis was captured on CCTV in a Bunnings store; he is believed to have died on the same day the footage was recorded. He was seen carrying a backpack and wearing a watch in the footage.

Around a week after his body was discovered, several belongings thought to be his, including an APT backpack, a shoe, a water bottle, a jacket and a Bunnings receipt, were found washed up on the bank of the Maroochy River.

  • Very short brown hair.
  • Internal surgical nails in right knee.

  • Black shorts with thin silver pinstripes down back.
  • Two cream-colored knee compression sleeves.
