Alexandria Isadora "Alexa" Skolnitsky was a young woman found in the Hudson River in New York City on May 6, 2000.

She was identified around April 2024, with her identification being publicly released in August.[1]

Case[]

Skolnitsky was last seen by her sisters when she was about six years old. The sisters became estranged when they were placed into foster care.

On May 6, 2000, her decomposing body was pulled from the Hudson River in New York City. Her cause of death remained undetermined, based on the state of her remains.

Once they reached adulthood, her surviving siblings attempted to reconnect. After they made contact with one another, they were unable to locate Skolnitsky. After posting online, a family member submitted their DNA and it was matched to the then-unidentified remains.
