Akita John Doe was a man whose body was found floating 100 meters offshore in Togakamoaosa near the Oga Peninsula in Akita, Akita Prefecture, Japan. He is believed to have been accompanied by Itoigawa John Doe, who was found a day before him, as their life jackets bore an identical boat name. Due to photos of the North Korean leaders being found on the body, the decedent is presumed to be either a defector or a fisherman that was swept away.
